2022 Galan Vineyards Reserva Privada Chardonnay 0.75 Ltr. Blanco
picture of

Beautiful, bright yellow color. Exotic and slightly spicy nose with impressions of pineapple, passion fruit, banana, apple and a hint of vanilla. A fine acidity keeps the wine interesting and complements its creamy and soft character. The balanced structure with sufficient body results in a pleasant, finely toasted and long finish.

Fatty or firm fried fish with accompanying sauce, mild curries, poultry or other white meat, pasta and salads based on ham or cheese.

climate

Located quite southerly between ideal latitudes, Maule Valley is slightly cooler than other major wine regions in Chile. It enjoys slightly more precipitation that falls mainly in winter and many hours of sunshine. It is warm during the day and the temperature drops sharply at night, making it probably the most privileged wine valley in Chile. The general characteristics are comparable to a Mediterranean climate.

soil

The vineyards are located in Maule Valley near Curicó. The Maule River supplies the valley with alluvial sedimentary rocks. The soils are quite varied and consist of granite, red clay, loam and gravel. The soils on the slopes are poorer and with good water management. In the valley itself on the river, the subsoil is richer with higher yields.

vinification

Manual picking in the cool of the morning. Classic fermentation on stainless steel under cool temperature. No malolactic fermentation to preserve the lively character as much as possible. The wine is then aged briefly in a blend of French oak barrels. It is then bottled and marketed.
