Impressive colour that goes from dark ruby red to almost black with garnet red hues. Intense aromas of ripe blackberries, cassis, black plums in combination with hints of nougat, tobacco, new and lightly toasted wood, vanilla and a touch of cocoa. Despite its high concentration, it can enjoy an unprecedented elegance and finesse. This is undoubtedly one of the best wines made in Austria.
A wine that absolutely does not need food to come into its own but is simply a pleasure to enjoy individually. If you do combine it with food, combine it with equally elevated meat dishes, a fine and tasty piece of game, sweetbreads, cheeks etc...

- vinification
-
The whole family decides which are the very best barrels of that year and makes a blend of them. The different grapes (secret blend that can vary annually) are fermented separately and aged for 30 months in new French oak barrels where it gets its malolactic fermentation. Then the blend is made and the wine is aged for another 5 months in new barriques.
