Domaine Clos Romane
Rhône - FRANCE
Philosophy
In the heart of Provence, in the centre of the village of Cairanne, Nadine and Stéphane started with a lot of passion their first vintage in 2011. The 30 ha vineyard is situated from the terraces of the Aygues to the highest plots of the mountain, overviewing the great plain of the Rhone Valley. It is with real pleasure that they share their wines with you to discover the Provencal art of living.
Terroir
The 30ha vineyard is located on clay-limestone soils starting on the terraces of Aygues up to the highest plots of the mountain, which dominate the entire Rhône plain. The vines over 50 years old are the subject of all the attention, cultivated in a sustainable way with numerous plowing, organic fertilizers, short pruning and controlled treatments for the greatest respect for the soil.
Wines
The harvest exclusively by hand is sorted once at harvest and then a second time in the cellar on a sorting table. Vinification takes place in thermo-regulated concrete vats in the traditional way. The vatting varies from 20 to 30 days, it is punctuated by daily pumping over and shedding. Aging continues for 10 months in vats and 12 to 18 months in demi-muid (600 liter barrels). The wines are bottled without fining or filtration. Taste their red and rosé Clos Romane Côtes du Rhône as well as their delicious red Villages Cairanne.
